Calligraphy month: introducing our calligraphy kit
Welcome to the Cosy Craft Club's calligraphy month! We really want to encourage you to have a go at calligraphy yourself, and we'll be sharing the key things you need to know to get started. You can find all our calligraphy posts in one place here.
Introducing our gorgeous copperplate calligraphy kits from Meticulous Ink! These kits have been painstakingly put together by Athena - a lady who is truly meticulous.
To start with, take a look at the outside - they're almost too beautiful to open!
This magical box contains everything you need to get started with copperplate style calligraphy. Inside you will find:

This kit is a great introduction for anyone who's ever wanted to give calligraphy a try. Calligraphy is a skill that anyone can learn, it doesn't matter what your handwriting is like or whether you've tried anything like this before or not.
The things that I have personally found to be important are to try to get the slant the same on all the letters, and to really study the letter forms that you are trying to imitate. Where do the lines meet? What shapes are formed by each part of the letter? When you concentrate on accuracy here, your lettering will really improve.
The key to this craft is practice, practice, practice! A little every day is better than 2 hours in a row.
