Our favourite websites for DIY beauty recipes

Our favourite websites for DIY beauty recipes

We really want to encourage you to have a go at making your own skincare, and we'll be sharing the key things you need to know to get started.

If making your own skincare is something you’d like to try, but you don’t know where to start, we’ve got some great websites to get you on your way! Some just have recipes, and some also have some resources to help you learn about how to DIY your own beauty products. Have a look at these websites and you’ll be sure to find something you want to make!

A Beautiful Mess

If you’ve come across A Beautiful Mess before, you’ll know that it is a behemoth of a website for all kinds of beautiful crafts, decor and lifestyle articles. So it’s no surprise that they have a massive catalogue of DIY beauty recipes too! As ever, they all sound lovely and look lovely too. See the full list here.

A Life Adjacent

This website, created by mother and daughter team Kim and Kyla, focusses solely on recipes that are green, natural and affordable. They have a great selection of DIY beauty recipes here.

Going Zero Waste

This blog is a wealth of information on all aspects of reducing your waste, and unsurprisingly it features a number of recipes for DIY'ing products rather than buying them. Many of the recipes are more on the practical side, such as dry shampoo and deodorant. Find all their DIY posts here.

Hello Glow

Devoted to helping to create and use products that work for you, this website is beautifully presented and has a wide range of recipes to try. Their beauty recipes can be found here.

Humblebee & Me

Humblebee & Me is a huge database of DIY recipes and resources perfect for anyone who wants to learn how to make their own body products and cosmetics. There are too many categories to list here, but a great place to start is with their starter recipes, perfect for beginners.

Lovely Greens

Lovely Greens comes at the DIY beauty subject from the perspective of using things you can grow. There are some great recipes, such as carrot soap and rose petal body cream. Find all the recipes here.

Soap Queen

A great resource for all things DIY beauty related, but also has some really useful articles on (unsurprisingly) soap making, such as this beginner’s guide to cold process soap making. Find all the bath and beauty recipes here.

I hope that you’ve found a website that you love here. Why not pick a recipe and have a go?!
