Punch needle embroidery is created using a special hollow needle with yarn threaded through. As you 'punch' the needle through the fabric and lift it out again, a loop of yarn is created on the back of the fabric, and the fabric grips the yarn to keep it in place. Then move your needle to where you next want to make a loop and punch again. It's as easy as that! And very quick and satisfying too!
This loopy design is made by punching from the back of the fabric. If you prefer a flatter design, then punch from the front.
This kit includes a Lavor punch needle with 3 tip sizes for different thicknesses of threads. The largest tip is used for DK yarn (which is included in the kit) and the smallest is for embroidery thread. So you can have fun trying all different types of punch needle designs once you've finished your heart!
